How to Open a Ticket Transcript
When a ticket closes, a server can send you a copy of the conversation as a file named like transcript-1042.html. Discord shows that file as code, but it is a web page: download it and open it in your browser to read it.
The file is yours to keep, and the conversation in it doesn't expire. Profile pictures load from Discord, so they only show when you're online.
On a computer
- Click the file name in Discord, or hover over it and click the download icon.
- Open your Downloads folder and double-click the file. It opens in your default web browser.
If it opens in a text editor instead, right-click the file, choose Open with, and pick your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari).
On iPhone or iPad
- Tap the file in Discord, then tap the share icon and choose Save to Files.
- Open the Files app, find the file, and tap it. It opens as a web page.
On Android
- Tap the file in Discord and tap the download icon.
- Open your Files or Downloads app and tap the file. If you're asked which app to use, choose your browser, such as Chrome.
What's in it
The transcript shows every message in the ticket with its time, plus images and documents that were archived. Times show in your own time zone when the page opens in a browser. Videos and some other file types aren't saved in transcripts and stay as Discord links, which can expire.
Questions about the ticket
Ticket Tool runs the ticket system, but each server runs its own support. For questions about what was said in a ticket, or to ask for it to be deleted, contact the server you opened it in.
